Chalet Saunton is the perfect place to stay when it comes to golf breaks in North Devon. Ranking at number 61 in the World’s Best 100 Courses and hosting arguably two of the best links courses in the country, The Chalet is just a few hundred yards up the road. Saunton Golf Club has two 18 hole courses located in the depths of Braunton Burrows, bringing spectacular views and ever-changing conditions. A wonderful day out for all of the family is a trip to Broomhill Sculpture Gardens and Art Gallery. Located just North of Barnstaple in one of the most stunning valleys in North Devon, it is surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodland and enclosed by its own stream. Established in 1997, it has organically grown into one of the largest permanent collections of contemporary sculpture in the South West of England. Broomhill hosts over 300 sculptures on site, all placed within their natural environment amongst the beautifully cultivated gardens.
The wave conditions at Saunton are perfect for all levels of surfing, widely regarded as the best location for learning to surf in North Devon. With the expansive 3 mile stretch of beach, crowds are spread significantly thinner compared to other beaches in the area, adding the benefits of greater space for learners and a safe environment to learn

The South West Coastal path runs along every beach in the South West of England. In fact, the Chalet, Saunton is located right on the path. With 630 miles of superb coastline to be explored there is so much to see.
With 32 miles of dedicated cycle paths all the way from Braunton to Meeth with Barnstaple, Instow, Bideford and Great Torrington in between, the Tarka Cycle Trail follows the journey of Tarka the Otter in the classic tale written by Henry Williamson.
The National Trust’s Arlington Court is an intriguing Regency house and collection of horse-drawn vehicles, set in a picturesque gardens.
Lundy Island lies just off the coast of North Devon. The three-mile long island can be seen from the Chalet on clear days and is well worth a visit. A wealth of peaceful and unspoiled nature and wild life can be the perfect getaway from the busy crowds in the height of summer.
If you’re on the hunt for Wild Life then hopping on to the Ilfracombe Princess will give you the chance to see Dolphins, Porpoises and Seals.

If you don’t know us already, we are a laid-back cafe/bar/restaurant in the heart of Croyde serving up an eclectic menu with a great variety of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options.
