SAUNTON SANDS, NORTH DEVON

The three-mile-long Saunton Sands sits just beyond North Devon’s two other famous beaches, Croyde and Woolacombe, and is backed by the spectacular Braunton Burrows, a UNESCO designated Biosphere Reserve, and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

A wonderful day out for all of the family is a trip to Broomhill Sculpture Gardens and Art Gallery. Located just North of Barnstaple in one of the most stunning valleys in North Devon, it is surrounded by hundreds of acres of woodland and enclosed by its own stream. Established in 1997, it has organically grown into one of the largest permanent collections of contemporary sculpture in the South West of England. Broomhill hosts over 300 sculptures on site, all placed within their natural environment amongst the beautifully cultivated gardens.
