When Trish Halpin from Marie Claire visited Chalet Saunton, she described it as “bliss” with “jaw-dropping” moments, many “must do’s” and some fabulous dining.
The bliss included mixing the great outdoors with cool, modern living. The position of Chalet Saunton overlooking the beautiful Saunton Sands ensure this mix is easy to achieve. Perfection for surfers, within easy walk of the surf, an outdoor shower on your return and plenty of storage for boards and wetsuits. Start your day sipping coffee on the balcony, spend the daytime on the beach – with or without the dog – and the evenings falling asleep to the sound of crashing waves.
The interior is no less spectacular with jaw-dropping moments as you enter and see the views from the floor to ceiling windows, the mod cons, super friendly staff and luxury finishing touches.
From the chalet you can sign up for surfing with Surf Saunton, walk for miles, again with or without the dog. Take a drive to the National Trust property of Heddon’s Mouth and explore the woodland walk along the Heddon River. Cycling, horse riding and fishing are also close by activities to try.
The balcony is a wonderful setting for dinner, but if you prefer The Beachside Grill is a great option for early dinner.
